FAQs

Q. Why support The Quadrennial Council?
The Quadrennial Council was born of a need to address a societal problem affecting thousands of people. Only through education and grass roots action can real change happen. Our dream is that there will one day be no need for the Council and that the antiquated concept of leap year will be abolished.

Q. I’m thinking about dating a leaper, but she’s only legally 5 years old, can I get arrested for that?
That is unchartered territory. In some states, legally you cannot only be arrested for activities with “QuadriMinors”, but you can be convicted and serve hard time. Though it is uncertain if you were a quadrennial as well, how many birthdays you would have to spend behind bars.

Q. What do I do if I think I’m suffering from Advanced Age Confusion Disorder (AACD)?
You should see a physician immediately. Unfortunately, few medical professionals are familiar with symptoms and treatments for AACD. The Quadrennial Council’s health Advocacy Committee (HAC) is working hard to change that.

Q. Is there a support group for families and friends of AACD sufferers?
You bet. The Quadrennial Council is hard at work putting together a comprehensive international database of support groups.

Q. How can I help The Quadrennial Council and the Leap Day 08 campaign?
Get active! Post a video, submit your slogan or write a letter of support to us. Be sure to send us your contact information. We’ll be in touch.

Q. Won’t adding the extra day screw up the space-time continuum?
Well, technically it will set us back a day a year. But in 365 years we’ll be caught up. So no. The Quadrennial Council also houses a flux-capacitor, so we should be covered.

Q. Do dogs and cats suffer from AACD?
The short answer is yes. But it becomes much more complicated with the whole people-to-animal years conversion thing. It is also very difficult to diagnose in pets, but generally it has been accepted that dogs chasing their tails is a symptom.
