About
We are The Quadrennial Council: a group of motivated individuals focused on improving the lives of quadrennials (leapers) everywhere. Leap Day 08 is our campaign to end the unjust stripping of rights of quadrennials the world over. We are determined to make this leap year, the last leap year.
People born on leap day suffer more than most know.
- Retirees charged and arrested for under-aged drinking
- Mothers and fathers with children legally older than they are
- Middle-aged men stuck with Kiddie Meals because they are under the age requirement
- Leapers suffer from Advanced Age Confusion Disorder (AACD) and become social outcasts
We are calling for Leap Day 2008 to be the LAST leap day, and are challenging the government to add a February 29th to every succeeding calendar year!
We are led by our Executive Director, Bjorn A. Leepur, a quadrennial with 24 years (or six leap years) of leadership experience in social action groups. Bjorn, an American-born Swede of French descent, learned early on from his Australian father the cruel reality of being a leaper. As fate would have it, the father and son are both quads.
Bjorn was able to develop his sense of activism at a young age, and finally had the opportunity to form The Quadrennial Council when he met Icant Beyenny Younger (I.B) at an AACD recovery meeting. I.B. and Bjorn assembled the motivated team of leaders below to move the Council to the next level, making Leap Day 08 the springboard for the quadrennial movement.
